Tukka Tuk Canteen is the creation of multi-award-winning Chef Anand George.

Born in Kerala on the tropical South Coast of India Anand came to the UK, working in London’s West End, working in a Michelin-starred restaurant. With a passion for re-imagining Indian cuisine, Anand co-opened his debut restaurant in Whitchurch Road Cardiff, in 2008. In that year, Anand won the Tiffin Cup presented by the House of Commons for the best Indian Restaurant dish in the UK. Many, many awards have followed!

In 2012 Anand left to open his hugely successful Purple Poppadom restaurant in Cardiff serving innovative twists on inspirational cuisine from all over India. Next, Anand and his business partner in the enterprise, Rupali Wagh brought Indian Street Food to Wales with Tukka Tuk in 2018. With eateries now at Swansea, Barry, and Cardiff, in 2023 Anand expanded the concept with his exciting new Tukka Tuk Canteen in Whitchurch Road, Cardiff.
